Providing a hospice patient with end-of-life care that enables the patient to be free of pain and suffering, while still being comfortable is oftentimes very difficult. Many hospice patients are unable to receive medication in the dosage forms that are commercially available. Also, most medications that effectively treat the individual must be given in doses or strengths that heavily sedate the patient.

The physician and our pharmacists can work together to design medications that will meet the specific end-of-life needs of the patient while providing a certain level of comfort for the caregiver.
